Six-time champions Australia delivered another commanding performance to defeat West Indies by eight wickets in the first semifinal of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at The Oval.

West Indies made a cautious start, scoring only 35 without loss in the powerplay as Hayley Matthews struggled to accelerate.
Georgia Wareham dismissed Matthews for 30 before Australia’s bowlers triggered a dramatic collapse. West Indies slipped from 47/0 to 83/6 as Ash Gardner, Sophie Molineux and Wareham shared six wickets.
Veteran Deandra Dottin provided late resistance with an unbeaten 26 off 16 balls, helping West Indies reach 125/7.
Georgia Voll gave Australia a flying start before Chinelle Henry removed her for 16.
Hayley Matthews briefly raised West Indies’ hopes by dismissing Phoebe Litchfield, but Beth Mooney took control with an unbeaten 61 from just 28 balls. Ash Gardner then finished the chase in style with an unbeaten 35.
